Activating power through a
global network.
Building a global network of political professionals, democracy champions, and changemakers in public service, politics, peace, human rights, issue advocacy, the arts, and social entrepreneurship.
Who We Are
Global GAIN is a nonprofit nongovernmental charitable organization (501c3) formed to build a global network of political professionals, democracy champions, and changemakers in public service, politics, peace, human rights, issue advocacy, the arts, and social entrepreneurship. We are professionals dedicated to seeing more women and BIPOC in leadership positions globally.
Formed initially to engage in international programs focused on democratic and women's leadership — we find ourselves as focused at home in the US as in other places in the world. When our democracy is threatened, the whole world is threatened. Our reimagined mission is dedicated to recruiting and training a new generation of talent who want to make impacting democracy, elections, and advocacy a profession and are looking for support to build their careers.
We continue to build meaningful connections across cultures with a particular emphasis on lifting up women and young political, civic, and entrepreneurial leaders in the U.S. and globally in developing democracies.
“The solutions to the most significant problems in the world will be found when women achieve parity in leadership positions at every level of public and civic life.”
We are committed to the Global Goals for Sustainable Development — and believe the 5th goal, Gender Equality, is the secret to achieving each of the others.
Our Theory of Change
Our vision is aspirational while our specific program goals are impactful, practical activities that tangibly improve and work towards gender parity in public life. When women receive support — through network building, coaching, and training — they gain the skills and confidence to engage in meaningful leadership roles in their communities.
Network Building

Coaching & Training

Leadership Roles
Public office, advocacy, the arts, social entrepreneurship.
Better Governance
Less corruption, more attention to peace, education, and healthcare.
When more women serve in leadership roles in public life there is less corruption, better governance, and overarching issues such as peace, education, and healthcare receive more attention and priority. Our current programs focus on the U.S., Ukraine, and East Africa.
