Poor and MarginalizedAbove all else, Global Gain's mission is about serving the world's poorest and most marginalized groups. Global Gain has chosen India as our geographic area of concentration during our start-up phase and plan to gradually expand to other developing countries over time. As the gap in median income between rich and poor nations continues to grow, it is imperative that organizations like Global Gain seek and systematically spread the best solutions addressing problems like extreme poverty, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, the lack of clean water, and a host of others. Fortunately for those in the developing world, many philanthropists today are concerned global citizens for whom compassion knows no borders. They realize that $50 spent in the U.S. or other highly-developed nations doesn't go very far, but in countries like India where 600 million people live on less than $2 per day, "bang for buck" is much higher. Even modest sums can drastically improve the quality of life for marginalized people, not as handouts or charity but to fund long-term solutions to the problems contributing to the ongoing cycle of poverty.
