Pilot Project

In 2007, Global Gain will be focused on demonstrating proof of concept for utilizing adaptive blueprinting strategies on a large scale through the creation of streamlined systems and documented best practices. In 2008 and beyond, our goal will be to spread the use of these systems and practices among NGOs, foundations, and other organizations focused on providing long-term solutions to problems plaguing marginalized groups around the globe.

In our innaugural year (2006), after a great deal of careful consideration and due diligence on some of the most innovative blueprints for social change we came across, we are excited to have finally decided upon our ideal pilot project which we will be undertaking in 2007. This blueprint not only met all of our criteria, but in many ways exceeded them. The blueprint is called Child Friendly Villages and was created by one of the world's leading anti-child labor networks, Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA). BBA works at the grassroots level in India's villages to eliminate all exploitative child labor and enroll all children in school. Thus far it has replicated the blueprint in 150 villages and has recently partnered with WorldVision and Plan India to expand the blueprint much further. On a recent trip to India, Global Gain met with all three of these organizations and discussed a plan of action for collaborating on the design of an adaptive blueprinting strategy to scale-out the model to as many as 1000 villages in India in 2007 and expand it to other countries in 2008 and beyond.
