Identifying the most promising blueprints for social change among thousands in the developing world is no easy task. To do this job ourselves would require a significant scaling-up of staffing and resources. Scaling-out is a strategy that enables us to operate lean and smart-- to achieve more with less by harnessing the expertise of our entire network and applying it to everything we do. Our partners represent a vast and impressive value-web of experience with a track-record of success in one or more of the following areas:
Atlas Corps: The Atlas Corps program offers year-long fellowship opportunities for young social entrepreneurs from India and Colombia to work with U.S.-based social sector organizations. The first class of fellows is slated to begin in the summer of 2007. Global Gain has offered to spend one month with Atlas Corps fellows training them in the basics of scaling-out and adaptive blueprinting and helping them develop specific strategies of their own to implement upon returning to their home countries. Bachpan Bachoa Andolan: BBA is a network of NGOs in South Asia based in New Delhi, India dedicated to the total elimination of child labor worldwide. BBA created a blueprint for change called Child Friendly Villages which works at the grassroots level in India's village to root out child labor and enroll all children in school. Global Gain has chosen the Child Friendly Villages model as its pilot project. We will be working closely with BBA to develop and adaptive blueprinting strategy which will enable them to scale from 150 villages to 1000 over the next year through a number of NGO-partners. Global March Against Child Labor: The Global March is a movement to mobilize worldwide efforts to protect and promote the rights of all children.? Specifically, the movement advocates the right of all children to receive a free, meaningful education and to be free from economic exploitation that is likely to be harmful to the child's physical, mental, spiritual, moral or social development. Global March will be a key partner in Global Gain's pilot project to replicate BBA's Child Friendly Villages model. Save the Childhood Foundation: SCF was started with the specific objective of fighting the scourge of human trafficking and to support the people's movement, the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement). SCF will be a key partner in Global Gain's pilot project to replicate BBA's Child Friendly Villages model. Start-Up!: Start-Up! is an NGO working to identify young Indian social entrepreneurs and provide them with a variety of non-financial support services. Start-Up! will help Global Gain develop a curriculum to teach principles of adaptive blueprinting and scaling-out to young social entrepreneurs, as well as help us to document the actual processes on our pilot project. |
